Really disappointing customer service. Every time I call, I end up waiting for more than an hour, and when someone finally answers, the representative is unnecessarily rude and confrontational. It’s incredibly stressful dealing with them.

there are way better options elsewhere

there are way better options elsewhere! if you insist to start an investment relationship with CIBC IE! be prepared to lose more than your hair! they will test your patience and tolerance! think of it as tolerating a 5 years old child that requires attention and care. they can't even get the account opening process right. when they send you confirmations that the accts was opened successfully, DON"T trust it! it is not done yet! and they will absolutely screw up programming of commission fees or free trades. It is so messed up, use them as a backup only if anything at all!

US Stocks cannot be sold online

CIBC Investors Edge allows US Equity purchase but you cannot sell themose stocks online you have to call. Today's wait time 97 minutes. Completely unacceptable. CIBC never told me whe purchasing USD stocks I would not be able to sell them easily. There is zero Edge with Investors edge. Honestly worst trading platform and very poor customer experience.

WARNING DO NOT USE CIBC INVESTORS EDGE... I HAVE BEEN WITH CIBC FOR OVER 7 YEARS AND THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THERE CLIENTS AT ALL I REGISTERED A TRADE AND THEY BOUGHT 250 SHARES OUT OF MY 12000 SHARES PURCHASE REQUEST WHICH COST 3.75 AND THEY CHARGED ME $6.95 AND WHEN I CALLED THEM TO REFUND ME THE CHARGE AS I AM DISABLED AND LIVE ON ODSP THEY REFUSED SO I HAVE SOLD ALL MY SHARES THROUGH CIBC AND MOVED TO SCOTIA ITRADE THEY HAVE AN "ALL OR PARTIAL" SELECTION SO THIS NEVER HAPPENS TO ME THERE

WORST BANK EVER

WORST BANK EVER. Have LOTS of money with them and they won't even waive the yearly fee for the credit card. So i downgraded to a basic credit card with no yearly fee, and they immediately change the billing date to the DAY OF the downgrade, and CHARGE PAYMENT INTEREST. Tried to transfer money to my mom and they LOCKED MY ACCOUNT because of suspected fraudulent activities. Ended up spending hours on the phone and hours in the branch because nobody seems to be able to help and all they could do is transfer me to another agent and another and another... One time they even hung up on me/disconnected the call. Sign up with CIBC only if you have all the time in the world to be dicked around by this so called bank
