I wanted to wait a few days to write this review after the steam blowing out my ears subsided. We thought we found a great deal at Optimum Rv in Pottstown PA. After reading their bad reviews online, we still took our chances and talked to a salesman. Lucas was very good at showing us pictures and videos of the “good side”; he was so kind to leave out all the things wrong with it. We knew it wouldn’t be perfect because of the price, but we’d talked to multiple people at the dealership who all avoided telling us of the major issues, so we headed on the 14 hour road trip (1,800 miles) to buy it. When we showed up to our 9am appointment, the salesman who we’d been dealing with completely avoided us which was concerning right off the bat. We started looking it over and it looked visibly ok until we started checking the electronic stuff like the hydraulic leveling jacks, the breaker system, patches on the roof, etc. It had panels that were pulled off and screws left out, the hydraulic leveling jack screen was disconnected and they said they weren’t sure why/that they hadn’t noticed but in the same conversation said they had ordered a part to fix it??? Lucas even tried to get us to purchase their $1,700 prep fee to have it winterized (while we were on our way there). He told us he checked and it hadn’t been winterized but the prep fee would cover that; this sounded ridiculous so I called the sales manager to see if they winterize campers on their lot, which he informed me they do and that the camper had been winterized. When we arrived I found pink antifreeze in the drains but nothing came from the faucet when I turned it on, as well as water leaking out of the hot water tank. It was just one more lie they couldn’t keep straight. They made us wait 4 hours while they pretended to be working on the hydraulic leveling system (that had probably been chewed up by rodents living in the underbelly). When the service manager finally came in to tell us they couldn’t get it fixed, we could not believe it! We asked why we weren’t made aware of this before we drove 14 hours one-way (1,800 miles total) and his answer was “We’re working on trying to be better about that.” Apparently honesty is not their thing. There were so many things that they could have told us about or included pictures of that they chose not to. The issue was not with just the camper itself, it was the LIES told by their sales team.We emailed the GM to let him know how upsetting this whole deal was, to which his response was “this camper was bought As/Is”. AS/IS?? As far as your AS/IS condition, that was only brought into the equation after a price was negotiated and in good faith that we were told about anything you knew was wrong with it. Show me one picture or text we received about the patches on the roof, the hydraulic leveling system, or the underbelly (that had been patched because of rodents living there). I specifically asked about any issues this camper had because we were driving so far. We did not expect the camper to be in perfect condition, but we DID expect to be made aware of any major issues. These are the most dishonest people I have ever dealt with!!! Brian Tinker
