I am very disappointed with OXO’s service and quality of work. The first time my company did business with them, they were great, I was very happy. This latest dealing with them has been the opposite. First of all, I would like to point out - I am a graphic designer with over 25 years of experience working with printers and also, I’ve been a professional photographer for over 35 years. I have produced artwork for commercial printing literally thousands of times over the years. So this is not my first rodeo. I sent some artwork for packaging for two new products my company was launching. When I received the completed packaging (sent from a factory in PAKISTAN, not Sydney/Melbourne), one of them had a purple hue throughout the shadow area of the product photo (the photo has a slight shadow as it is set against a white background). When looking at the photo on its own in Photoshop, the shadow is grey (just as it should be). When adding the photo to the Illustrator artwork, it is also grey (yes, CMYK artwork is made up of 4 colours, but to the eye it is grey). Also, my monitor is properly calibrated, so what you see on screen is exactly as it should look when printed. I believe this purple hue was due to a poor a quality printer, a poorly calibrated printer or just incompetence of the person doing the printing. Plus, any competent printer would have picked this up in quality control and rejected it. It should never have been allowed to leave the factory. I’ve had issues with printers in the past. But 99% of case, a good printer will do the right thing and reprint the work. It’s just good business too. But when dealing with OXO, the very first thing they did… blame me/the artwork. I checked the artwork, it is perfect. They will not accept responsibility or do anything to help resolve this issue. The person I was dealing with, Adam, said he would speak to management and see what they can do for me. That was 5 days ago. Never heard back from them after that. They will not respond to emails now. I am disgusted, not only with their attitude and responses to me, but their complete lack of customer service. They clearly don’t care. My company is quite a large electronics importer/distributor, we own quite a few brands and require packaging for these brands. My ultimate goal with trying OXO was to find a local Australian supplier to work with for all of our packaging in future (even though I just found out they use a third party in Pakistan). I will NEVER do business with OXO Packaging ever again.
