When I first spoke with her, I had just been evicted and was facing homelessness with my three children. I had recently lost my grandmother on my daughter’s birthday (01/20/2022), and that same day my grandfather suffered a heart attack. My grandfather later passed on my own birthday (03/13/2024), and then my children’s father passed away on June 19, 2024.In one of the hardest seasons of my life, Cassie’s kindness, encouragement, and genuine spirit gave me the strength to keep fighting a fight worth fighting. She reminded me that my story mattered—and that it was worth sharing with the world.Then came Jessica Riha, my Project Manager, who made the entire publishing process so easy, smooth, and stress-free. Her professionalism and care made me feel supported every step of the way.Through this process, I didn’t just publish a book—I gained a new family.
