Concerns About Trustworthiness in Art Auctions

Having participated in numerous cruises and attended many art auctions, I've closely observed the interactions and behaviors of those involved, along with reviewing various complaints regarding business practices. From the beginning, something felt off. It's evident they prioritize their interests over customer satisfaction and addressing issues. I would approach any positive reviews with skepticism, as many appear to follow a similar, formulaic style—especially those that highlight specific individuals and praise them as 'excellent' representatives. It's disheartening that we can't rely on the business itself or trust that the reviews are authentic.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! If you're here because of a cruise or considering a purchase with this gallery... JUST DON'T!!! It's hard to tell if this company is a scam, corrupt, or simply incompetent, but something is definitely off. I purchased an item during a cruise, and their representative claimed it was a limited edition of 200 (which is also stated on the piece). However, I never received the actual item I won at auction, and weeks later, the appraisal that came with it indicated there are nearly 2,000 of these available. I regret not checking other platforms before buying, as many of this company's items are being sold by other buyers for much less. I even saw one sell for $206.50 that went for significantly more at their auction. It's astonishing! Just look on other platforms for all these so-called limited edition pieces. There are more listed for sale than you can imagine. I wonder why!!!

Good service, despite some delays...

After significant delays caused by a difficult delivery service, my paintings finally arrived. Initially, the support from the gallery was lacking, but they identified the issue and resolved everything professionally to my complete satisfaction. THANK YOU.

Disappointing experience

The artwork is not authentic, and I consistently receive the wrong frame. The staff was friendly, except for the auctioneer, who was rude and condescending. He repeatedly made disrespectful comments on the mic and spoke in another language.

It's a scam

It's a scam. I purchased a piece of art that they valued at $80k. We just had it appraised by four different valuers, and it's worth only $3k. Totally misrepresented.

Terrible post-purchase service and dishonesty.

We bought several pieces of art from the gallery on a cruise. At the time, we informed them we would be traveling for five months and would not be home until September. They assured us the art would ship before then or be held. Nothing but lies. Since leaving, several pieces have shipped, and we have scrambled to arrange deliveries to friends. They use a delivery service known for its issues, and our experience has been a nightmare. We have a valuable piece stuck in limbo, missed deliveries, and ongoing communication problems. If you're considering an art auction on a cruise, run the other way.

Delivery issues

The gallery sends your art via a delivery service, and I have nothing good to say about how they manage deliveries. Any issues, and the gallery distances itself from responsibility. No service or assistance. Shocking business practices if they expect repeat customers.

Stay away at all costs

As noted by others, their after-sales service is horrendous. Once they have your money, they seem indifferent. A warning for potential buyers, especially elderly relatives, about paying inflated prices during cruises.

Stunning artwork experience

My husband and I purchased art from the gallery on a cruise. We found a piece by my favorite artist and made an offer that was accepted. We were quoted 6-8 weeks for delivery, but to our delight, it arrived in less than 3 weeks, beautifully packaged. I can't praise the gallery enough for their care and dedication.
