I was charged $399.99 by PawChamp for a subscription I did not knowingly sign up for and never used.
After contacting support, they refused a full refund citing PayPal’s 180-day policy, but agreed to refund the portion within that window. They explicitly confirmed refunds totaling $239.97 and told me to expect the funds within 5–7 business days.
What actually happened:
Only $159.98 was refunded (not the $239.97 promised)
The additional $79.99 was never paid
After 10+ emails over ~1 month, they reversed their position and claimed the remaining amount was now outside PayPal’s 180-day window
In effect:
They committed to a refund → partially paid → delayed → then used timing as the reason not to fulfill the rest.
This raises serious concerns about:
Unclear or unauthorized subscription billing
Refund commitments not being honored
Delays working against the customer
I would strongly caution others before purchasing.
