PayPal promoted a referral scheme offering a £10 bonus for spending £5 or sending £5 to someone other than the referrer. I fulfilled both conditions, but their customer service claimed that only the first transaction counted and that the refund voided the bonus. Shortly after expressing my intent to warn others, they blocked my ability to withdraw my £5. I plan to file a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman and encourage anyone else facing similar issues to do the same. Avoid them—this service is a scam, and my brother has had a terrible experience where they sided with sellers.
