I never considered they wouldn't actually try to fix it, given I'd already outlined the problem. A day later, they confirmed what I had already told them: corrosion at the port and motherboard. No new insights provided. They then quoted me €799 for the repair, while the laptop's value is only €600 when functional. So, I was charged €179 just to be told I could pay €799 to fix a device worth €600. I rightfully raised concerns about the diagnostics fee. In response, they used intimidating jargon like "NVMe SSD" and "impedance" to confuse me. As someone with a background in tech, I saw through their tactics; the average customer might not. Ultimately, they provided no new information, charged €180 anyway, and proposed an outrageous repair cost. When I questioned them, they resorted to technical jargon to intimidate and dismiss my concerns. After prolonged correspondence, I paid simply to avoid the hassle of legal action, which I suspect is what they count on. My verdict: this service feels predatory, overpriced, and misleading. I recommend finding a local repair shop instead to save both money and frustration. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
