Warning to Potential Users of PDF-Leader – SCAM Alert
Please read all reviews carefully before engaging with this company. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not doing so. Numerous reports on Trustpilot and Reddit label this company as a scam, and I can confirm that experience. Here is my warning:
On January 22, I used PDF-Leader for a one-time PDF editing task. At no point on the website are the charges clearly disclosed. Only at the final step, when attempting to convert the document to PDF, was I asked to pay €0.95. There was no indication that this was part of a trial or that any further charges would occur. I completed the transaction in good faith.
On Sunday, February 8, I checked my credit card statement and discovered three unauthorized charges: two for €0.95 and one for €29.95. I contacted the company and received a response referring only to their “Money Back Policy,” claiming I had agreed to their terms and therefore would not receive a refund. I disputed this (case 2784564), but subsequent responses came from different representatives with identical messages, clearly automated and not genuine customer service. My money was effectively stolen.
Further research shows that PDF-Leader falsely claims to be based in the UK, while it is actually located in Cyprus. Charges are hidden, and this is a classic case of fraud and misleading practices. Be aware that negative reviews are quickly buried by fake positive reviews, likely posted to suppress legitimate complaints.
I have filed a complaint with the EU fraud authorities and asked my bank to block further payments. I strongly advise: do not use this service. Avoid at all costs.
