Review Time
This place will straight up scam you. The initial cost is very low and one off but they will take unauthorized payments and refuse refunds.
0 out of 5, would not recommend.
Subscription scam. You pay Under 1 EUR for one time use but they charge you 30€ a week later claiming you made a subscription. No info or e-mails provided about it actually being a subscription when paying the first time.
DO NOT USE, SCAM.
I used the product once in December and the result was desastrous (pdf not fixed). I had paid a small fee of 0,95€ which I didnt dispute, being insignificant. But to my surprise, weeks later I get dinged with an annual 29,95€ subscription I had never ordered. Following countless requests to obtain a refund, informing that the original service was bad and that I never subscribed, they state they can't do so, but as goodwill offer two years of their services for "free". I have iterated 5times with the client services explaining the same thing and they constantly state I haven't reacted to their proposal. This is groundhog day, and very frustrating because they have used the original one-time transaction as a guise to set up a subscription payment which was NEVER authorised.
Let's see if a trust pilot complaint does anything.
DO NOT USE, SCAM.
In the end you did the right thing. However your website is deceiving as you claim i took a 7 day free trial even though i had just paid for 2 document translations from pdf to doc. I never received an email stating that I had made a choice for a 7 day free trial and would ultimately have been hooked into a subscription. I suggest you make your website very clear and send a confirming email. However you made it right by giving a full refund so you get 4 stars.
Charged me two times €29,95 for one single pdf conversion. Must be a mistake, contacted them 3 times. Every time they offered me to stay two more years, however I clearly asked my money back (at least 1 time €29,95)! Everytime I talk about refund, the communication ends. I won’t stop until I receive at least €29,95 back. Totally not transparant!
As mentioned by others. I popped onto the supposedly free ap to quickly convert a Word document to PDF, only to find out I had to pay £0.95. I paid this small fee as I needed the document urgently, but at no point was I informed that I was signing up for a subscription. A week later, the company took £29.95 out of my business account without my permission. It was especially sneaky as I did not receive any email or other notification to say this had been done. I only found it when reconciling my accounts, so who knows how many people aren't aware that they're paying this large subscription every month. I have now had to block them via my bank.
The deceitful and duplicitous nature of this company is doing them no favours. They have a good app but their fraudulent ways will eventually put them out of business.
Warning to Potential Users of PDF-Leader – SCAM Alert
Please read all reviews carefully before engaging with this company. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not doing so. Numerous reports on Trustpilot and Reddit label this company as a scam, and I can confirm that experience. Here is my warning:
On January 22, I used PDF-Leader for a one-time PDF editing task. At no point on the website are the charges clearly disclosed. Only at the final step, when attempting to convert the document to PDF, was I asked to pay €0.95. There was no indication that this was part of a trial or that any further charges would occur. I completed the transaction in good faith.
On Sunday, February 8, I checked my credit card statement and discovered three unauthorized charges: two for €0.95 and one for €29.95. I contacted the company and received a response referring only to their “Money Back Policy,” claiming I had agreed to their terms and therefore would not receive a refund. I disputed this (case 2784564), but subsequent responses came from different representatives with identical messages, clearly automated and not genuine customer service. My money was effectively stolen.
Further research shows that PDF-Leader falsely claims to be based in the UK, while it is actually located in Cyprus. Charges are hidden, and this is a classic case of fraud and misleading practices. Be aware that negative reviews are quickly buried by fake positive reviews, likely posted to suppress legitimate complaints.
I have filed a complaint with the EU fraud authorities and asked my bank to block further payments. I strongly advise: do not use this service. Avoid at all costs.
I was charged without my consent, even after canceling my subscription and requesting a refund multiple times. The company ignored my complaint and refused to acknowledge the second debit confirmed by my bank. Beware of unauthorized charges.
WARNING: UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES / POSSIBLE FRAUD
I noticed unauthorized charges on my credit card from this company. I once used the platform for convertig my documents for price of € 0,95. Few days later, they charged me 29,95 without any information.
When I contacted customer support, they claimed the charges were linked to an account under a different email address that does not belong to me, which is extremely concerning. This raises serious questions about how my payment details were obtained and used without my consent.
Instead of providing a clear explanation or immediate refund, I was asked to share sensitive payment information, despite the fact that the transaction itself appears to be fraudulent.
Didn`t get my money back.
I strongly advise others to check their bank statements carefully and be cautious when dealing with this company.
⭐️ Not trustworthy.
This is a total scam. Initially, it states a '30-day money-back guarantee' before payment. I paid for a translation service, but all I received was a PDF containing the exact document I submitted, with not a single word translated! When I requested a refund, they claimed they don’t offer refunds. This is a terrible service and a scam—do NOT use it!
