We live in Florida and it can get hot for our puppies. I first ordered the mats for them and they stay cool and my puppies Honee Butters and Pistol Pete love them. Just recently I ordered the beds and those are going in our Motorhome to use while traveling. They were hesitant at first to try them and now they use them all the time. The material is soft and cool to the touch and I love the fact they are washable especially the beds, which have a zipper to remove the outside material and wash it in my machine.
