Is there an option to rate this experience lower than one star? I noticed that the inside of my tires were displaying cords, indicating that I needed new tires. I had previously made a reservation for tires and brought my car in for the installation. However, upon arrival, I was informed that the tires I had ordered were not available due to a computer glitch. Consequently, I had to purchase an upgraded set of tires instead. I bought two new front tires for a total of $445. Now, after only six months, I have noticed that these new tires are once again showing cords on the inside. When reviewing my invoice from Pepboys, I realized that it mentioned a "free alignment check" without any indication of a problem. Upon contacting the service center I had visited, the manager explained that the "free alignment check" simply consisted of determining if the steering wheel pulls and if the tires appear to be straight. This falls far short of an actual alignment check. Although I refrained from debating the manager regarding the lack of professionalism in this statement, our conversation continued and he mentioned that he had caller ID and could see my invoice. I asked him, given that my invoice includes a 65,000-mile warranty and a road hazard warranty, what could be done to address the issue. He responded by offering a $60 discount on the cost if I were to purchase two new tires and an alignment. This is not the first negative experience I have had with Pepboys, and I have now completely lost faith in this store. I will never recommend it to others and will actively discourage anyone from going there.
