Long story short: Brought my 2005 Land Rover LR3 on October 5 2023 to the Patchogue, N.Y. store. I knew what it needed and thought it would be a relatively smooth process. (They are after all ASE-certified mechanics charging 148.00 an hour). Right. I knew it needed an ignition coil because my very skilled mechanic brother who usually fixes my truck let me know what was needed. I could not bring it to his shop because he was recovering from cancer surgery and I did not want to bother him. Pep Boys informed me my truck was leaking oil from the valve cover gasket which screwed up spark plugs and more than one ignition coil. Also added some story about two of the ignition coils that were new but tightened so hard they couldn't get to look at them. Whatever. I should have just taken the truck home and taken it elsewhere. I really did not know what to do and needed my truck to get to work (I work with autistic children in their homes) so I decided to leave it with them. Two weeks later I pick the truck up and it is still running like sh--. Now I have to fight with these stupid people. I will be taking my truck to a shop that specializes in Land Rovers which I should have done in the first place but only found out the place existed while I was miserably waiting for my truck to be finished. I do not know what is wrong with these people. I can't treat the families I work with less than professionally. DO NOT GO TO PEP BOYS FOR ANY REASON . Two weeks and my truck is not running any better than before. Buyer beware
