I have been using perplexity for my solo business since early 2025 on a pro account and it was amazing. Now, as others have said, I have lost tons of high quality searches to more simple models, no more unlimited access to advanced models, and content generation (like pdfs) is drastically reduced from what I had even 3 weeks ago with launch of their 'Perplexity Computer' option. I am now looking to migrate out and also self host; this is a huge disappointment as I was singing Perplexity's praises just a little while ago to friends and family. I am not a fan of the hallucinations, the hanging/freezing, the wasted credits, lack of complexity around complex projects, and arbitrary and undisclosed usage limit changes almost weekly. What was a great experience has now become a nightmare as I am in the middle of a massive project and their internal gatekeeping is acting as if I am not a paying customer. No communication about usage changes; just frustration that I am not sure is related to their imposed limits, lack of context capacity, model switching, or just outright freezing happening all at once.
