I am a Pro version subscriber and find Perplexity platform is completely unusable for Professional users. Platform has obscure limit policy, which you don't know about when you unexpectedly hit a limit during making an important work. I've been told by the worker that the limit for Professional subscription will be reset within 24 hours. I was able to perform like 30mins of work and hit the limit. this was a simple code like 112kb and a few prompts. I've waited 2 days but the limit is still out there it still do not allow to upload attachments like i uploaded this in the first day of work, and the subscription upgrade pop up window appears every time I've try to upload a file. Then i was told by the automatic response ai agent that the limit is not 24 hours but 7 days!!!!! They are inconsistent in their replies and do not even properly know themselves what the limits are. Seven days for Professional users? For real? What kind fo professinal user will ever be interrested in using a professional platform every 7th day for like 30minutes? This is very frivolous! Even Anthropic has 4 hour limits which is kinda low, but few times more than 24 hours but 7 days??? Come on... The Desktop app and website do not notify about current limit consumption. The user do not know how to plan the work, when to expect his work will be blocked, and client do not know when he could resume the work. No even a simple indicatior of how much of the limit is used and how much does it have left. When buying Pro subscription you will not get informed that you'll be limited after 30mins of work for a 7 days. The help-> contact support menu is broken and do not work. I cant even imagine how would you work with little more advanced code like 20-30 files. It is not even a platform for beginners, let alone advanced users!
Unusable for a business. They really put an idiotic AI agent answering to business related issues like invoices or so, result, i have an issue with the invoices they sent to our company and we have been unable to resolve in more or less on month, now. Interactions with the operator are like useless: I greet in a previous mail with "KR" (kind regards), i get greeted in the next email "Hello KR".
And they do not answer to request to speaking to an actual human.
Perplexity is complete shit for learning or studying. I tried its free version about two weeks ago, and it was somewhat okay and functional, so I thought maybe the paid version would be better—after all, it's not for nothing that everyone praises it so much. In the end, you pay for the "best" AI assistant, and it can't even display formulas in a readable format, whereas free alternatives like DeepSeek do this without any issues.
Once upon a time I was a proud user of Perplexity. I loved it deeply that I would recommend my network to try it out.

I cancelled my annual "Pro" subscription within 96 hours of purchase (missing their rigid 72-hour window by less than one day) because the tool failed to meet clinical standards.
Perplexity's "support" is a deceptive wall of automated bots designed to stonewall legitimate refund requests. Even after citing the California Automatic Renewal Law, I was trapped in a 22-day loop of silence. It was only after I filed a formal credit card dispute that a human finally appeared—not to help, but to try and coerce me into withdrawing my bank claim with a vague promise of a "faster" resolution.
This company hides behind the very technology it sells to avoid basic human accountability. If you are a professional who values your time and consumer rights, steer clear. They do not respect their users, and they certainly do not respect California law.
started a student account and and it said it gave me one year student subscription and right after 4 months, my student pro status is gone and it asked me to put my credit card information if i want to continue using my "free student pro perplexity" account.
For your information, not everyone has a credit card or visa card. and you should be clear about these policies before you let someone make account on your website. going to remove my account and will rather pay google to use Gemini pro than perplexity pro.
I paid for year and even that is worst then chatgpt and Gemini. every single time change what we doing for long time even in space it doesn't remember what we doing and add small add and he change everything saying chat was compress even we chat a few second ago. Don't buy is not worth
I thought only happened to me, but after see reviews here, seems a trick from company. I got 1 year Pro with discount in keys website. I activated, and seems all was perfect. I didn't use since that first day, and now, when i tried to use it again, appears that i need to renew my credit card information in order to reactivate my account that is valid until January 2027 (11 months pending). It says Pro is paused waiting for type my credit card number. So weird, can't trust this company.
Loved perplexity. Told everyone about it and then one day they just cancel my account saying this decision cannot be undone. I ask them to provide more information, so I can be proactive and if I did do something wrong, then I can prevent this from happening but they just spew the usual spiel that they cannot divulge anything further. Of course, because they want you to pay more money on a subscription plan.
Perplexity has deliberately reduced monthly queries for Pro users without prior notice for all their Pro user base. The new limits are the followings:
- Deep Research: 600/day -> 20/month
- Labs: 50/month -> 25/month
- File uploads: unlimited -> 50/week
Since the new web UI didn't show the new limits and no announcement has been made, users have exhausted their monthly allowance in less than a day, having now to wait 1.5 days before they could make another query, similar for attachments to queries. This is notably important for users that renew monthly, and a break of trust for annual subscribers, which mid-term have found themselves with a service notably different from the one they've subscribed to.
