Would give 0 stars if I could BUYERS BEWARE, we had put a £1000 down on a 2016 Elddis Crusader Aurora advertised at £20,750 in Oct 2022, on viewing we picked up damp problem rear right hand side (inside wardrobe) and were advised this would go through the workshop to fix before collection (van would only come with 6 month warranty)After hearing nothing from them having paid the deposit & van meant to be in workshop (with a call when ready) we chased this up early Jan 2023, we were told salesman Dylan had left but sale now being handled by another salesman- fair enough & van was supposedly ready - news to us!However on inspecting the van on collectiom day the repair work was minimal & more to mask the problem rather than fix it with damp readings in this area still being 25+We asked for the van to be repaired properly, so gave them another chance to remedy. Again we had to chase & chase for updates, with van supposedly repaired and ready for collection end Feb 2023.We again went to collect 70 mile round trip each time - again van had not been properly repaired, just new sealant on top of old mouldy sealant outside rhs rear which is where water ingress had obviously caused dampness problem. Internal damp readings were still 25+We had a quick quote for the repair from an expert in this line of work coming in at £1500 to properly address the root problem & adequately repair the van.Looking at options we asked Perthshire Caravans if they would reduce the price by £1500 to reflect cost of repair, as on two occasions through their workshop the alleged repair work was substandard & ineffective & the salesman had indicated workshop would not look at doing more work on this vanSalesman said unlikely to reduce price to reflect the repair being done elsewhere but he would check & get back to us. We had chase up again after few days as hadn't heard anything.Salesman advised no Perthshire Caravans would not look to reduce price to reflect necessary repair work & the caravan would get passed on to a trader as obviously the damp issue if any other customer picked up with 6 months warranty period would then need to come into their workshop - which they didn't want. After nearly 5 months from viewing the van & paying £1000 deposit, 3 x 70 mile round trips, 2 chances to repair problem properly, Perthshire Caravans would not sell the van to us at a reduced price to reflect repair required (we offered to evidence cost of proper repair via 2 separate quotes from industry experts) but said they would only return deposit of £1000 (nice being in their bank for that length of time) and would only move the van on to a trader effectively removing the van from sale to us/the publicOf course we were disappointed as having thought we had secured a van we liked subject to repair of identified issue before collection - which they had agreed to do & had two chances to do - we had stopped looking at vans, however we do know at least 2 similar vans could have purchased elsewhere within the the 5 month window we had committed to the van at Perthshire Caravans.Imagine our disgust at seeing the same van with the same problems up for sale on Perthshire Caravan website a day later (after the deposit was returned and supposedly they would only sell to a trader) at the reduced price of £20,250 - still a lot to pay for a van with known dampness issues which will cost circa £1500 to professionally repair (not commenting on the Perth Caravan workshop team but clearly they didn't have the industry skillset to properly repair or werent allocated the budget to do so)Perthshire Caravans - lack of communication, inability to carry out adequate repairs, non existent customer service & lack of integrity. Buyers please beware - they are knowingly putting substandard van back on the forecourt for sale, which is concerning for any of their customers but also causing reputational damage to their dealership represented brands, who I imagine would also not be particularly happy with Perthshire Caravans sharp practice!
