This serves as a cautionary note for others. My elderly relatives were presented with a trade-in offer during their visit, leading them to purchase a new caravan from the company. They were instructed to bring their existing caravan when picking up the new one. However, upon arrival—after a long journey and financial commitment—they were informed that their caravan would not be accepted due to a claimed damp issue that wasn't present. The agreed trade-in value was then significantly reduced, leaving them with an offer far below market value. They felt cornered, facing the tough decision of either reversing the completed purchase or incurring a major loss just to return home. I am both angry and appalled that a supposedly reputable company would treat customers this way, especially the elderly. My advice is clear: never trust verbal agreements and ensure your trade-in is physically inspected and accepted in writing before finalizing any deal.
This review serves as a warning to others. My elderly relatives were offered a trade-in price during their visit to the branch, which prompted them to buy a new caravan from the company. They were instructed to bring their caravan when collecting the new one. However, upon arrival—after a taxing journey and financial commitment—they were informed that their caravan would not be accepted due to a supposed damp issue that simply wasn't there. The previously agreed trade-in value was then reduced by £3,000, leaving them with an offer well below market value. They felt pressured and trapped, facing the distressing decision of either reversing the completed purchase or incurring a significant loss just to return home. I am furious and appalled that a supposedly reputable company would treat customers this way, particularly the elderly. My advice is straightforward: never rely on verbal agreements and ensure your trade-in is physically inspected and accepted in writing.
I purchased a new caravan and waited eight weeks for the snagging list work to be completed. Upon picking it up, I found that not all snagging list items had been addressed, and I wasn’t even offered an apology. Several trips were needed before the work was finally completed, each requiring a 140-mile round trip. Further issues arose, and despite returning the caravan under warranty, the work performed was subpar (frayed wires wrapped in tape, buckled trim replaced with buckled trim, and more). When I brought this to the attention of the service manager, I was treated poorly, and my concerns were dismissed. Emails went unanswered. After requesting a copy of their complaints procedure and the contact details of the manager, my requests were ignored. Two years post-purchase, we are still struggling to resolve issues under warranty and are now in discussions with the manufacturer, who also ignores our emails.
While traveling with my caravan, the bathroom sink developed a leak, about two pints a day. I visited the company to see if they could assist. They asked if I could wait for a technician, which I did. Not only did they inspect it, but they also had the necessary parts in stock and fixed it on the spot. I can't praise them enough for their service and friendly staff.
I bought a new caravan from the company, and my experience with both the caravan and the subsequent service was disappointing. The caravan arrived with defects, and resolving these issues took over two months. Additionally, when I went to collect the caravan after being incorrectly informed that all items had been fixed, I noticed damage that I believe occurred while it was at their premises. The level of after-sales care during this prolonged process was unsatisfactory. I share this review to help other buyers understand their consumer rights. Please note: I am not a legal expert, and this is simply my understanding of the law. It is advisable to verify your rights with a qualified individual. When purchasing a caravan from a trader in the UK, several key rights apply. Always keep detailed records of any issues or repairs for reference and familiarize yourself with your rights.
Our beloved caravan was in for warranty work, and I cannot praise the service department enough—from the receptionist to the technician who assessed the job. They took the time to explain the work done and the reasoning behind it, confirming that further investigation was conducted to ensure the repairs would be effective. The extra effort they put in is commendable, earning another five-star review from us.
I urge potential customers to read the reviews about this company on various platforms. My experience with customer service was shocking, with a rude and hostile response from management. I would not recommend engaging with this company. Their reaction to my review was to fabricate lies about my conduct. I have a long list of individuals who would never deal with this company again, and we cannot all be mistaken. The remaining claim will be pursued through the courts.
