Appalling increases year on year despite no claims. Despite our dog being in perfect health, having no previous conditions, and only just turned 4, Petgevity tried to increase our policy from £347.79 to £521.12, nearly 50%.
The previous year, our policy went from £295.42 to £347.70, an increase of 17%. I complained last year and was told "Our underwriters are in charge of setting our pricing, based on breed, age, claims made and also the costs within the company, I cannot say a more specific reason as there are so many factors that will lead to an increase."
Basically, they cannot justify plucking figures out of thin air and taking advantage of peoples' attachment to their pets.
I shopped around and got the same policy for the price we had last year from another major provider.
