I wanted to upgrade my son's phone during the Black Friday sale which preceeded the end of his current plan. I sent a text asking how to accomplish this and received a quick response with instructions. Each question was answered promptly. My older son has a Verizon phone and I have spent 2+ hours on the phone with Verizon over the past few weeks and my request to terminate his service has not yet been satisfied.
