FIVE YEARS AND COUNTING since my Father (a Polish Citizen who spent most of his 50 years in America) moved to Poland, deposited his Life Savings at Bank Polski and suddenly passed away unexpectedly shortly after (April 2017)...My Family has tried EVERYTHING we can from America: International calling the bank, internationally mailing the bank, contacting Lawyers, paying interpreters to speak for us, etc and we STILL have 0 idea of what the next move is or what the procedure is. This is my second international banking experience. My father also had a relatively smaller amount of money in a bank in England. The English bank contacted Us and were extremely helpful and quick sorting the issue so everyone is happy.....NOT the case with Bank Polski. And I am not talking about their regular employees, everybody we have spoken to has been respectful but even they seem a bit confused on what to do. I do not blame them, employees can only be as good as Management. They asked us for Death Certificates (twice), our birth certificates, social security numbers, etc but for what? We have SPENT MORE MONEY these last 5 years trying to find out what to do as International correspondence is not cheap either and we have talked to 20+ Polish-American lawyers but nobody wants to touch this....I urge EVERY American to be aware of this if you ever plan on going to Poland for Any reason. DO NOT give Bank Polski any amount of money that you would be comfortable losing. Because if something unexpected happens to you, your family will be left in a situation like THIS to top off their grief in losing a loved one, above all else.........FIVE YEARS AND COUNTING, IF we ever receive what is left of my fathers life savings we will probably be too old to care. At this point, I would rather the money just be burned in a dumpster vs letting Bank Polski essentially steal it, but we have no say int the matter. But what we DO have a say in is getting our story out there. When we find the time, instead of paying more money to contact Bank Polski to redo this whole stonewall of a process, We would rather invest in letting EVERYONE know Our Story. A: Because it is the right thing to do. When 3 teenaged boys lose their father and have no one else left, you can imagine it brings on hard times, and I don't want more families to go through this. And B: It has become a bit personal for me. Bank Polski's Policies (or lack there of) go against every Moral I was brought up with. I will make it a personal mission to employ THE BEST writers I can find to litter the internet with THE TRUTH about Bank Polski. Everybody who has ears will know of this in time.......And at this point, if your bank ever feels ready to make amends with the family of their once Loyal Customer (my dad) by simply giving us what is Ours, I feel like a generous percentage of interest would be a nice gesture. Whatever my dad had in the bank PLUS interest for our pains, sufferings, and sheer INCONVENIENCE the Families of Customers like my Father, who Trusted $200,000+ with you. This is the thanks we get? Not to mention the costs of everything we have tried to make this right. It is not even a Financial Issue anymore, it is a matter of Principle because I don't particularly like being robbed by people who already have more money than they will ever need. And as I said, this is NOT a European-American Issue. The English bank my dad dealt with was PROFESSIONAL and Timely. They contacted Us after my Father passed away! ....If my family and I had not contacted bank Polski I seriously doubt they would have bothered to contact us at all. BE AWARE. Thank You.
