I attempted to make a legitimate advance rent payment ($18,750 total for 5 months @ $3,750/mo) to my landlord using Plastiq. I provided signed lease excerpts, invoices for each month, and highlighted language showing rent can be paid “on or before the 1st”. Despite all documentation, Plastiq canceled the transaction and told me to “take my business elsewhere,” refusing to reinstate it.This was not an overpayment, but a lawful, contractually permitted prepayment. While Plastiq’s TOS doesn’t prohibit such transactions, their internal risk rules arbitrarily blocked it. If you rely on this service for important bills, note it may cancel legitimate transactions without cause.Bottom line: If you need reliability for large payments, this is not the service you want.Update: To Business ResponseThis is untrue and was reviewed in their TOS.Please see section 5.4 and justify your argument.
