I can't recommend Plas Weunydd highly enough!We've just returned from a two-night stay in their Barlwyd Shepherd's Hut, and it was absolutely spectacular! We had our own little electric buggy to take us to our hut, which was right at the top of the track overlooking the lake. The hut is off-grid with no TV and limited electricity for lights and a fridge, plus a wood-burning stove—simply perfect.Every detail has been thoughtfully planned and every need catered for. The kitchen had a gas hob, there was a BBQ outside, and the ensuite bathroom had a full-sized shower and toilet. The bed was incredibly comfortable, with spare blankets, hot water bottles, and even dry robes available for us. The views of the mountains and lake were breathtaking, and waking up to the sunrise was an unforgettable experience. The air was so fresh we had the best sleep we've had in ages.We also received a complimentary bottle of wine and a sauna session, which was just what we needed after a swim in the pools along the Watkin Path.We are already planning our return visit!
