I am not sure if ESPN gets all the blame here. MLB deserves their portion too. But since the billing

I am not sure if ESPN gets all the blame here. MLB deserves their portion too. But since the billing charge is from ESPN and the support person was adamant that I am wrong. Here you go, ESPN.

Due to the stupid agreement between ESPN and MLB, I had to sign up with ESPN first before I could purchases my MLB.tv subscription. I am 99% positive that I followed the steps. I signed up for ESPN, added on MLB.tv and then cancelled ESPN. I have the emails to proof it. This was all done within 15 minutes on the same evening. Yet, when my credit card statement came I still saw a charge for ESPN Unlimited. Why? According to the support person, that is the agreement. Even though I cancelled within 5 minutes of signing up I get to pay for one month of ESPN unlimited. So, though he even agreed that he saw the cancellation I am not entitled to a refund. He did say that I should not see another charge since he does see that I cancelled.

Oh, their whole web site log in system is crap too. I tried logging in using 3 different browsers and could never access my account.

ESPN+ is a Terrible platform

Terrible platform. They now add in their own commercials so if watching live you have the regular commercials plus their add-on commercials. When watching on demand anytime you try to FF or Rewind their 3 minutes commercial comes on. If you try to skip forward 10 sec it often jumps to the end revealing the final score and ruining the game. On demand NHL often won’t work - I’ve missed several games this season because the app just won’t start the game. I’d give it 0 stars if I could!!

Recently subscribed (Disney/Hulu bundle) and I guess I'd give ESPN+ a "meh". The tech works pretty well (although casting doesn't always seem to work all the time) most of the time, but I really only watch some MMA and the occasional college basketball game I can't get on regular cable, so I'm probably overpaying for what I use. Getting more use out of Hulu...

Cannot Watch Content

I recently purchased a subscription to ESPN+. I have yet to see a game because it won't let me watch it. It says content unavailable. It is impossible to reach them. Where is a customer service number? I will not be renewing my subscription and I should get a full refund. I am not holding my breath on that one. It is way too complicated to get help.I finally got in touch with a Disney+ agent and the issue is resolved

ESPN+ streaming feels stuck in the dark ages

I am shocked at how poor ESPN+ streaming is in 2025. My home has reliable fiber Internet with more than 200 Mbps everywhere through WiFi repeaters, and I never have problems with any other service. I tested ESPN+ on three different devices (M4 MacBook, iPhone 16, iPad Pro) with the latest OS and app or browser updates, using both Safari and Chrome to rule out device or browser issues. The results were unacceptable. There were constant hangs and stalls when trying to live-stream college football, video quality was far below what YouTube TV delivers on the same content, and even my MacBook with Chrome, which was the only setup that was barely usable, still had forced restarts. This is the kind of broken streaming experience I thought the industry had solved more than a decade ago. The cost of the subscription is not the issue. My time is more valuable, and ESPN+ robbed me of an entire Saturday afternoon with a product that feels stuck in the dark ages.
