I am shocked at how poor ESPN+ streaming is in 2025. My home has reliable fiber Internet with more than 200 Mbps everywhere through WiFi repeaters, and I never have problems with any other service. I tested ESPN+ on three different devices (M4 MacBook, iPhone 16, iPad Pro) with the latest OS and app or browser updates, using both Safari and Chrome to rule out device or browser issues. The results were unacceptable. There were constant hangs and stalls when trying to live-stream college football, video quality was far below what YouTube TV delivers on the same content, and even my MacBook with Chrome, which was the only setup that was barely usable, still had forced restarts. This is the kind of broken streaming experience I thought the industry had solved more than a decade ago. The cost of the subscription is not the issue. My time is more valuable, and ESPN+ robbed me of an entire Saturday afternoon with a product that feels stuck in the dark ages.
