The doctor called me about an hour before my scheduled appointment to tell me he wouldn’t be able to refill my prescriptions and was cancelling the visit. The call lasted less than a minute and I was told I would be refunded since the appointment couldn’t happen. Despite this, PlushCare still recorded the interaction as a completed visit and billed my insurance. When I contacted support, they initially argued that I had technically “seen the doctor,” even though the call was simply to cancel the appointment and lasted under a minute. After pushing back, they said they would escalate the case.
Months later, I discovered they still billed my insurance as if a full appointment had taken place and charged me a copay. Being billed for a medical visit that never actually happened is incredibly frustrating and unacceptable.
