Here is an experience of someone I know in NJ. They had auto insurance with a small company. the company decided it was no longer going to underwrite any insurance in NJ. So they decided they were going to recommend another insurance company, i.e. Plymouth Rock Assurance. Without any effort on the part of the individual, they sent a policy and a bill. After looking at what they offered, this individual decided NOT to sign up with Plymouth Rock. They continued to send invoices. After not paying the invoice for over 30days after the alleged start of the policy, they stated the policy was being cancelled but that 30 days worth of premium was still due. Incredible! They continued to send more invoices. After about 90 more days, they referred the alleged account to acollection agency and informed credit bureaus that the account was a "chargeoff" which resulted in a 70-100 point cut in his FICO score. Outrageous does not begin to cover it. Would like to hear of others about this experience or others who have dealt with this company.
