Actually ridiculous, after applying for several positions and interviewing, they promised to reach back out to me within a few weeks. Never heard back from them, so I applied for more opportunities and tried reaching out to figure out what was going on. Literally no response despite the support tickets I had sent in, then when I do get ahold of a support agent its a "oh no refunds", welp you're welcome for the money I guess. I'm sure its not the experience everyone has but that's what I had.
The PMP Certification journey is straightforward, from the online application process through to the exam itself.
I was able to complete the online form quickly and easily (less than a couple of hours, to be thorough). After submitting and then receiving authorization to schedule the exam, I was able to find a convenient testing center immediately.
The test is definitely not easy, and I value that aspect. With proper preparation and commitment, success is achievable. I admire the lengths taken to prevent cheating, as well as the thorough application process. All these factors are significant.
I paid extra for Study Hall access, but the questions and format differed significantly from the actual exam. Additionally, Study Hall was often down for maintenance when I wanted to study. Customer service from the company was difficult to reach, with most interactions relying on AI and text messaging. Moreover, the strict rules at the testing center—no water, no chewing gum, and limited breaks—made the lengthy exam with poorly written questions feel overwhelming.
In general, the training materials and preparation courses provided were helpful. There are areas for improvement in some technical aspects, like allowing users to easily resume or navigate to specific points in the course. The exam seems to prioritize speed over the quality of answers, which is a subjective view while taking it (I passed). The frequent mention of the certification in job postings highlights its significance.
I'm not sure that passing this test truly indicates whether someone is qualified to be a project manager. The material is sound and provides a basic framework for project management, but the test itself is confusing and poorly worded.
The study material was solid. Some aspects felt disconnected from actual on-site experience, but academically learning project management provided valuable insights that I believe will be useful in my career. However, the exam format is poorly designed. It's unrealistic to assess project management abilities by requiring someone to answer 180 questions in about four hours. This exam mainly tests reading speed and exam-specific preparation rather than true understanding and meaningful analysis.
