Our experience with Podium has been extremely frustrating and has directly impacted our business operations.
We run a high-volume event planning company and rely heavily on text communication with clients. One of the main reasons we signed up for Podium was to centralize client communication and ensure our team could respond quickly to inquiries. Unfortunately, the platform has repeatedly failed to deliver on this basic functionality.
The most serious issue occurred when we launched our client texting through Podium and began communicating with clients through the platform, only to later discover that we were not receiving the responses clients were sending back to us. From our perspective, conversations simply stopped. In reality, clients had been replying and we were never receiving their messages.
For a service-based business that relies on real-time communication with potential clients, this is a critical failure. Missing incoming messages means missed opportunities, confused clients, and potentially lost revenue.
What makes this situation even more concerning is that we had previously reached out to support and were reassured that the system was functioning properly. Being told that everything is working when messages are clearly not being delivered is incredibly irresponsible and creates serious operational risk for any business using this platform.
In addition to the messaging issues, we have also experienced ongoing frustration with billing and account management. Payments were taken that required follow-up to correct, and resolving these issues required multiple communications.
We adopted Podium hoping it would simplify communication and improve our client experience, but instead it has created additional work, confusion, and uncertainty around whether we are actually receiving messages from our clients.
Until these reliability and support issues are addressed, it is difficult to recommend this platform to other businesses that depend on consistent and trustworthy client communication.
For a tool that positions itself as a communication platform for businesses, reliability should be the most basic expectation. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience.
