I would like to give them 0 stars

I would like to give them 0 stars! Read the bad reviews before you buy from Posh Puppies Indiana! This breeder has bad reviews on different websites, such as Yelp, BBB, Google, and Trustpilot. We had an awful experience there! We bought a distressed and unhappy doggy. At 5 months old, our dog was very anxious. She couldn't sit on the sofa-she couldn't put her butt or belly down, she couldn't chew-she was just swallowing the small kibbles, she couldn't walk on the asphalt or on a leash, she just sat on her belly on the grass without running, she couldn't go up or down on the stairs at her age, or to pass the threshold at the patio door, she didn’t know her name-she was not able to turn her head, she was drooling a lot and anxious at our drive back home for three hours, and one hour and a half when we returned her back, she threw up for a couple of times, she couldn't pee or poop on a grass-just on the floor inside of the house without being worried if she steps in or not, she was spinning in circles on the grass or in the house before pooping, screaming in the crate during the night, we noticed the state of her health was not good-she had some weird coughing (most likely kennel cough), and from time to time she was showing aggression without any reason. In addition, no previous veterinary papers were disclosed to us, the facility where the dogs are kept wasn't shown to us, the parents of the dogs weren't brought to be seen, and the papers with some genetic tests could be some general papers because we couldn't make any connection between our dog and those papers. In conclusion, we believe our puppy was a puppy mill dog raised without any care and love, she was just a number out of 280 puppies which they have for selling at this time! How are they able to show love and care for so many puppies? Don't remain in the hallway, ask to go inside to see how the dogs are kept. Read their contract carefully being most attentive to the fine print because they don't make any refund, there is a rehoming condition, plus there are sentences like that: "Breeder will be awarded $2500 for each proven disparaging statement", and much more like this which cover the seller. When I told the breeder that I will write a review about my experience, she sent me the above sentence circled to threaten me. My family and I, are very traumatized after this experience, not talking about their refuse to make the full refund, or partial refund, after we delivered back the dog just in two days! We lost our beloved doggy one month ago, and now this harmful experience really affected all of us a lot! Our advice is to buy from ethical breeders who are not interested just for their profits..

Awareness of for profit/puppy mill businesses

I do not have direct contact with Posh Puppies but I do have documentation from the rescue group who purchased my Cavalier King Charles spaniel from Ashley Ryman and Posh Puppies. He was placed at auction in August 2020 after he was no longer needed as breeding stock to make Cavachon puppies. He had the minimum of vaccines which were required by law , rabies . I have the documentation signed by Ms. Ryman and the vet she took him to for this shot. After the rescue group was able procure him and bring him back to Arizona, a vet check showed he had severe ear infections and a grade 3 out of four luxating patella. He had not been socialized with people. He was fearful to certain movements such as reaching over his head. He did not know how to play or chew on treats and was not house trained. He does not process chicken and therefore is now on an alternative protein source dog food. Posh Puppies is a for profit dog breeding business otherwise known as a puppy mill . A true dog breeder breeds one specific breed of dog and does the required testing for genetic disorders specific to the breed. A certified dog breeder would never send a dog to an auction and will have a return policy for the dog to be given back to them at anytime in their life. I understand the need sometimes to know size, temperament, etc., but buying from a puppy mill only perpetuates the problem. It will cost you more with a true breeder but you will get a dog that shouldn’t have health and genetic disorders. Posh puppies prices are indicative of a mill. The current price for a Cavalier King Charles spaniel from a certified breeder is around $5,000. Posh puppies is charging $1,450-$1,650. A puppy from a mill is considered “livestock” and regulated by the USDA. The regulations require food, water and shelter. That is all these dogs get. Please be aware of what you are perpetuating when you make a purchase from a business like this.

Gratitude & Praise for Posh Puppies Indiana

I take offense against the negative reviews of Posh Puppies Indiana. The Breeder reached out to me directly and provided extra pictures and videos for me of the puppy I wanted from June 23 when we ultimately reserved our new puppy until today, July 1 when we picked our puppy up. Not only were all vet visits and papers dated with vaccine stickers in order and up to date, but they were in order for the regular visits to ensure the wellness and health of my puppy since she was born April 1. The breeder directly met with me the morning of our puppy pick-up and explained her microchip number to us. They offer a health guarantee and have a relationship with Trupanion insurance. They require a wellness check-up within 72 hours of pick-up to ensure my puppy got home safely and is still well and I have to send a copy of the vet visit results to maintain my health guarantee and if she becomes sick and worse in the first 3 years she will be replaced; they also require for health guarantee that we keep her on the same puppy food until she is 1 year old: Dr. Gary’s Best Breed puppy food (which I can tell you is only available through Chewy and Amazon and is not cheap!) They also genetic test and verify the puppy is negative for the common defects of my puppy breed. The puppy is playful and loves playing in the grass, with toys and loves people. She was clearly well socialized and we got her at 13 weeks old. She is eating and drinking well, despite a nearly 12 hour drives home to Connecticut. The facility is clean and has everything required for taking your puppy home safely, happily. They also give a soft travel blanket and some puppy food (though I bought the food ahead and brought it and also got a soft blanket for ur new puppy, we were happy to accept the travel items). Finally, Pawrade.com hosts some of their puppies and only works with breeders that meet a specific set of high standards to verify they are not a puppy mill place! They also do not mutilate their dogs: our Spaniel had only her dew claws removed while her tail is undocked. Dew claws of the breed are known to get infected so removing them is a responsible breeder health care decision. Docked tails are unnecessary if your Spaniel is to be a companion and family member. Posh Puppies Indiana is not a Puppy Mill breeder.

Buyer Beware - Concerning Practices, Possible Puppy Mill

This is a for profit dog breeder that works with multiple breeds and dozens (possibly more than 100) dogs at a time. Based on what I saw when I visited them, I am not comfortable working with this business. I left without a dog and am continuing my search elsewhere. After I left, I realized I hadn't done my research (shame on me). So I went online and learned about how to ask better questions before making my trip. I found Posh referenced on a puppy mill alert website as participating in a puppy mill auction. I learned that some breeders are certified and vetted, and Posh Puppies Indiana isn't - it actually ticks off about half the checklist items (or more) that some alert groups use to identify a puppy mill.If I went back, I'd like to ask more questions to understand their buying, breeding and care practices more. I'd ask to talk to the owner(s). I'd want to see staff that know how to care for the dogs. That they know the dogs' personalities. I'd ask to see the puppy care facility. I am glad I had this experience because it makes me more aware as a consumer and gave me the "kick in the seat of the pants" that I needed to be a better person in doing my research before buying. Please learn from my mistake.

Mixed feelings...

Mixed feelings.... Was sold as a reputable breeder, no puppy mill promise.. but is it a Puppy Mill? Reviews from just these past few months 2022 are concerning. I paid a lot for my pup and I love him but something is not sitting right about this "ethical" breeder. Many reviews online make it sound like a dirty, shady puppy mill.. disappointed and worried for the other pups and parents there. Def will only adopt and not shop in future because the guilt is there as much as I absolutely adore my puppy.
