This is a for profit dog breeder that works with multiple breeds and dozens (possibly more than 100) dogs at a time. Based on what I saw when I visited them, I am not comfortable working with this business. I left without a dog and am continuing my search elsewhere. After I left, I realized I hadn't done my research (shame on me). So I went online and learned about how to ask better questions before making my trip. I found Posh referenced on a puppy mill alert website as participating in a puppy mill auction. I learned that some breeders are certified and vetted, and Posh Puppies Indiana isn't - it actually ticks off about half the checklist items (or more) that some alert groups use to identify a puppy mill.If I went back, I'd like to ask more questions to understand their buying, breeding and care practices more. I'd ask to talk to the owner(s). I'd want to see staff that know how to care for the dogs. That they know the dogs' personalities. I'd ask to see the puppy care facility. I am glad I had this experience because it makes me more aware as a consumer and gave me the "kick in the seat of the pants" that I needed to be a better person in doing my research before buying. Please learn from my mistake.
