I just taken over an apartment...

I just taken over an apartment within a block of flats and lead to me dealing with the management side of the entire building. I received a what I can only explain as I felt it was a cold call the a woman called N****, she did not know who she wanted to speak to and took her a while to find the details as i thought it was a cold call I hung up. After she called me she advised it was change in owners and she would send me the figures over email to look at, she was quick in attempting to get off the phone not before I asked if she had my email address where she advised she had my details and then hung up. The following day she called me again and I advised I did not receive the email where then she asked what my email was and then sending me the details. After sending these, I was very confused over how the hole process worked but she did not want to explain anything to me over the phone or via email. she just repeatedly advised me to pick a contract I would like from the figures she sent me either 1 year, 2 years or 3 years. Still confused and not wanting to sign a contract until I was aware what I was signing. I was not even aware this was a gas bill till i called back. I decided to see if I could get a cheaper option else where which i have and much happier for it.
