Postcrossing is a great idea that I enjoy very much. The more ways there are to communicate electronically, the more I enjoy getting traditional mail in my mailbox and sending traitional mail to someone else's mailbox. However, Postcrossing has one big problem to fix: They punish you when cards you send expire. You can do nothing about postal systems in other countries and you can't force someone to register cards that you send. All you can do is send cards in the faith that they will arrive and those they are addressed to will register them. Postcrossing will ban you from sending more cards due to a high number of expired cards in your account and make you wait until the cards have been expired for more than one calendar year before letting you send more. This is not fair.Perhaps Postcrossing would like to punish countries that have higher incidences of unregistered cards rather than punishing the people sending cards to those countries in good faith. You can't control which countries Postcrossing gives you addresses for, but Postcrossing certainly can control that and they should.
