Of all the teaching companies that don't require a degree, Preply is good compared to many others, but the best ones aren't usually recruiting. It's better if you can set up your own business, like I did. If you spend your life travelling the world, as I do, you won't be able to work abroad as a certified personal trainer or holistic therapist, so online work is your only option.
The pros of Preply.. you set your own price, work when you want, hide your profile if you want to take off weeks or months and can cash out at any time. Also the quality of students is much better than other awful sites I worked on, especially if you're price is at least $20 per 50 minute lesson. The more you charge, the better the quality of student. Eg when you work at $15 or less, students will expect you to read through lots of material, listen to long voice recordings etc.. trying to get as much as possible for as cheap as possible.
Cons. ALL trial lessons are done for free, and Preply offer students THREE lessons for the cost of one trial lesson, so obviously students will take advantage of 3 for the price of 1! Then they'll penalise you if you don't convert the business and push you down in the algorithms so nobody sees your profile. Converting business on Preply is more about being good at sales, than a teacher, as you can't prove your skills within a few minutes, after the students have introduced themselves and you've asked about their goals, interests etc
Also the hardest thing to do on Preply is block a student.. they give you the option but then penalize you after, even when you can prove the student had been a pain in the but T!
