As a wedding photographer with nearly 15 years of experience, I’ve collaborated with many videographers. Unfortunately, my recent encounter with a subcontractor hired by this service was not positive. On the wedding day, I struggled to work alongside the videographer. Despite clear communication about ceremony logistics discussed with the couple, I faced resistance and dismissiveness. Key moments were affected by poor coordination, and his attitude was noted by guests as well. During filming, the subcontractor often used his phone and missed part of the couple’s first dance, an important moment. Although the final edits were visually impressive, a recurring shadow across much of the footage detracted from the overall presentation. I share this feedback in hopes of improving quality control over subcontractors and post-production, as we all aim to provide the best experience for couples.
