During the lifetime of this policy I tried to claim for an escape of water which destroyed my bathroom shower, the floor, the ceiling below. They sent a couple of rather shabby “inspectors” up from Glasgow, I swear they were just recruited from a mug shot book of Zombies they certainly didn’t seem to know what they were doing. AND I gave them coffee…..and they used our loo. They jumped about in the shower (YES THEY DID) and said the grout had come away from the base. Of course it had, you just JUMPED on it….
Apparently we weren’t insured because (get this) the builders hadn’t done a good job in the grouting. The house was 5 years old……So guys, when is an escape of water not an escape of water? What a CRAP company. We have renewed with another provider for half the (get this - Privilege tried to automatically renew at twice the previous premium despite having done NOTHING) cost and we ARE covered.
The repairs cost me £14000 - to say I was distraught is an understatement. Aviva have now bought this foul company out so Aviva will NEVER get my business.
