I've been a patient of psych UK for a while, finished titration with my initial consultant (a lovely doctor who knows a lot). Unfortunately, affer a lovely nurse attempted her best to titrate me, I was experiencing side effects that wouldn't go away and were a little scary.
I lost a lot of hope in medication after that, and had a yearly review with the knowledgeable and patient Dr. Nwife Akhator-Eneka. I was under the impression my medication would be stopped and id be left for deal as I used to. Instead, the doctor decided to change the medication type, and she sat there and explained the differences between what I'd been prescribed, and what she wanted for prescribe me. She gave md full capacity and asked me what I wanted to do.
I've been juggled around mental health services since 13, and not one doctor has treat me as an equal barr this wonderful person.
This experience alone has helped manage my symptoms so well that I can enjoy food - a minor point for many, but dealing with no appetite for at least 4 years, this is the equivalent of a miracle, and I haven't even tried the medication yet!
Lastly, please please give the admin staff a huge raise for putting up with me. Very smart, very quick people who are top of the line when it comes to impeccable service
