I purchased a Purism Liberty phone on 9/7/23.I paid $2407.94 for the phone including the shipping.I received the phone some time after 9/20/24.I contacted Straight Talk - reseller of A T & T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. After purchasing a sim card for Verizon, I was told by their tech support that this phone was NOT compatible with anyone of the major carriers mentioned.I then observed reviews of others expressing that they could NOT obtain phone service on a practical level utilizing the Purism phone.I then took the Purism Liberty phone to A T & T, where an experienced customer service technician installed an A T & T sim card and ran a test to see if the Purism Liberty phone would operate in conjunction with the A T & T network to provide reasonable phone service.The experienced technician clarified that the Purism Liberty phone would not provide functional phone service with the A T & T network particularly with the recent 5 G updates.I sent e-mails to Purism tech support requesting an RMA denoting the fact that the phone did not provide the opportunity for phone service through the major carriers like A T & T and Verizon in my area, and that they did not alert me to such concerns prior to purchase. They acknowledged the disparity and injustice, but, I was told they could not provide a refund at this time, which was within the 30 days of the purchase date.I filed a dispute with my bank. Purism's bank took the money back claiming they have a policy of NO RETURNS. Purism took $2407.94 of my money and sent me a phone that does NOT provide reasonable phone service with any of the major telecommunications carriers such as Verizon or A T & T in my area.I learned the hard way that you have to thoroughly check the reviews before you purchase through anyone.It is a sad reality that there are those out there who will take your hard earned money and give you nothing of value in return. We must always be wary that there are those out there who are poised to take advantage of well meaning trusting people.It is very sad and tragic that Purism has taken advantage of me the way they have. Let this be a lesson to all.
