I probably wouldn’t choose to work with Purplebricks again unless I had no other option. I personally prefer the experience of dealing with a traditional estate agent where you have a consistent, local point of contact, rather than having to deal with multiple people through an online system.
Communication was slow, and I struggled to get hold of the right person—or even the same person twice—even though I’d been assigned a designated contact for my purchase.
After arranging a viewing, Purplebricks sent an independent estate agent to meet me at the property. She explained that she simply picks up jobs from the site and, as a result, couldn’t tell me anything about the house. She couldn’t find the keysafe for the first 20 minutes, which meant the actual viewing felt rushed because she had to leave shortly after. I found it frustrating that she knew nothing about the property, the family, or its history, as these are the kinds of things you would normally expect an estate agent to know.
I contacted Purplebricks several times after the viewing to make an offer, but no one got back to me. In the end, I had to contact the seller directly to get any progress. I really didn’t like this process, and ultimately I ended up pulling out of the purchase because the house needed far more work than initially expected.
If a property I absolutely loved came up for sale through Purplebricks, I would still use them out of necessity. However, given the choice between Purplebricks and a traditional estate agent with a local office and consistent human support, I would choose the latter every time.
