Misleading “free” QR codes – avoid

I generated a QR code on qrcodecreator.com believing it was free. I used it on printed materials for my business. Only afterwards did I discover that the QR was dynamic and would stop working after a 7-day trial unless I subscribed to an expensive annual plan (£11/month for a single code). This was never made clear in the creation process. The information is buried in disclaimers at the bottom of a very long page, not presented when you actually generate your QR code. It feels like a deliberate “dark pattern” designed to mislead. Now I have printed materials with a QR that will be useless unless I pay over £130/year. A basic static QR should be permanent, but they don’t explain that clearly up front.I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this service. Use a free static QR generator instead, or create your own redirect so you stay in control.

Scam despite .org

This was a link in an email purporting to be from my server. I did not open for fear of malware

Deceitful advertsing

Deceitful company. Misleading customers to create a "free" qr-code, only to then disable the code and forcing the customer to pay a monthly fee (ransom) in order for the code to actually work.

Scam

Scam! The free QR codes are not free, they will expire after a week. If you’re using them in a print campaign, this can be very bad for your business! They will hold your QR code ransom for £120. Do not use, go find a QR code generator that actually links directly to your URL.

Absolute Scam

The site is an absolute scam. They lure you in with the promise of creating “free QR codes,” but at no point during the creation process do they mention that these expire after a week. The information is only hidden somewhere on the website, and you don't see it if you aren't actively looking for it. After that, they try to charge you 8€ per month just to keep three QR codes active (with a scan limit).

This is a total scam

This is a total scam, they seem to offer a free QR code, and a few days later they blackmail you because "your QR has expired" (which you have already built in your communications, advertising, whatever it is). Also, according to REDDIT, this is even more of a scam because they use the QR codes for directing them to fake sites for phishing.
