I bought a puffer jacket for £150 and during its first use in -3°C, after about 2 hours of walking, I found the inside completely soaked and my wool pullover drenched, despite no rain. The condensation was excessive! On the second outing at around 2°C with moderate rain and wind, it got soaked again, but this time from the outside. I can't say it's effective for hiking; it seems more suited for casual walks in a shopping mall. I'm really let down by this jacket! I have an older jacket that cost £70 and it performs so much better!
