I have insured both my home and car with RACV for many years and I am a Silver Member.This year, my car insurance premium increased by more than AUD 1,000 compared to last year. When I asked for an explanation, I was not given a clear or reasonable answer — I was simply told that the price was “computer generated,” with no explanation as to why it had increased so significantly from the previous year.When I raised a complaint, RACV did not properly address the issue and instead only sent the policy documents by post. I called again today and experienced the same lack of transparency. Even more concerning, the new quotation was AUD 500 higher than the quotation I received just two weeks ago, for exactly the same coverage.This is extremely disappointing from such a long-established and respected Australian company. RACV’s attitude toward long-term customers has clearly changed for the worse. It now feels like the right time to move to another insurance provider.
