I’m extremely disappointed with my experience using Record Go. This was my third time renting from them in Mallorca, and unfortunately, it was a complete nightmare. The car they gave me was battered from the start, and just a couple of hours after picking it up, the vehicle broke down. I had to drive 45 minutes across the island to get to my destination, and only then did the battery fail—I couldn’t even start it. I called for roadside assistance, and they told me to return immediately to the airport branch. I used about 80 km of fuel, but my priority was just getting the broken car back.
What makes this even worse is that, after all this hassle, I was randomly charged €39 (about £34) on November 4th—three weeks after my return—without any prior notice or invoice. I paid for fuel at the time, and I even saw the deposit refunded, so I have no idea what this charge is for. I tried contacting customer service multiple times, even going to the airport desk, but I was met with indifference. They just sent me a generic response saying, "this is our policy," with no effort to resolve the situation.
I’m beyond frustrated. For a company I’ve rented from multiple times, spending over €300 on this trip alone, this is unacceptable. If I choose a main dealer network, I expect exceptional customer service. Instead, I was left stranded, and now out of nowhere, you charge my card. I won’t be renting from Record Go again, and I certainly won’t be recommending you to anyone else. A real shame, especially over a small €39 charge.
