I booked my tickets through REDBUS.IN for UNIVERSAL TRANSPORT SERVICE (UTS) from Velankanni to Bangalore on 15/02/2026, PNR 154029 & 154028, and this has been one of the worst travel experiences of my life.
1. Delayed Departure & Seat Confusion:
The bus was delayed by nearly one hour without any proper communication. When boarding, seats were duplicated and allotted to multiple passengers, leading to confusion, arguments, and unnecessary stress right at the start of the journey.
2. Poor Hygiene and Amenities:
The bus seats were dirty and stained, completely unhygienic for passengers. There were no blankets or pillows provided for an overnight trip. When asked, the driver said the blankets were “sent for washing” — a completely unacceptable excuse. The AC vent above the seat was broken and stuffed with tissue papers and polythene covers, making the journey extremely uncomfortable. Additionally, no drinking water was provided during the entire trip.
3. Extreme Safety Issues:
At around 2:00 AM, the driver stopped the bus at a remote location for a temple visit, leaving passengers — including children, a newborn baby, elderly passengers, and women — stranded in a dark and isolated area. This was frightening and completely unsafe. On top of that, the driver demanded payment at 2:00 AM, adding to the stress and discomfort.
4. Unprofessional Conduct:
The overall behavior of the staff and the lack of basic amenities reflect gross negligence and unprofessionalism. There was no consideration for passenger safety, comfort, or well-being, which is completely unacceptable for a reputed transport service.
Conclusion:
This journey was unsafe, unhygienic, and poorly managed. I am compelled to share this as a review to warn other passengers. I would strongly advise against traveling with UTS or booking through Redbus until they seriously improve their safety, hygiene, and professionalism standards.
