Visited Regus Brentwood (Great Warley) on the 19th. Around 20 minutes later, I received a call asking if I had signed the contract that had just been emailed. I was told the agreement was on a monthly rolling basis, so I did not feel it was necessary to go through pages of detailed terms at that moment.
On the 23rd, I found a better option elsewhere and was prepared to lose one month’s payment if needed, so I looked into cancelling. The cancellation process was not straightforward, but I eventually managed to submit it.
After cancelling, I then received invoices for a deposit, an additional month’s charge, and even a “restoration” fee for a desk that I never used. It appears the contract is not truly monthly rolling, as a full month’s notice is required starting from the 1st of the following month.
My advice to others: read the contract very carefully before signing. Once you commit, the terms are heavily weighted in Regus’ favour and written in very corporate, legal language that may not align with what you initially expect to be fair or reasonable.
