I regret to say that the car rental service, along with the insurance offered, feels deceptive and almost scam-like. When I rented a vehicle in a certain city, I also purchased insurance for the entire duration. However, upon arrival at the rental location, I felt pressured to buy additional coverage, with the agent claiming that using my existing insurance would lead to zero tolerance for even minor damages. They indicated that I would be liable for the smallest scratches, and I would have to pay upfront, with reimbursement possibly coming later. It felt like a threat. I felt trapped, yet considered taking the risk of renting without their coverage. The most absurd part was that they blocked a substantial amount on my credit card, which was more than I had ever encountered in over two decades of renting cars. The overall rental system appears truly misleading, and I suspect regulatory bodies may take action against it. After wasting significant time, I opted for a taxi to continue my vacation. Consequently, I am requesting a full refund of the amount paid and strongly suggest a review of your rental policies and partnerships.
