I rented my car from Reno Nevada in April 2023 for August 2023. As soon as I booked my "pay later" reservation online, I received an email from the location demanding that I provide a major credit card "just to have on file" or they would cancel my reservation. The use of a credit was not a condition of the terms of my online reservation but I complied. I canceled the reservation in May 2023. What happens in August???? The Reno location bills my card for a $100 cancellation fee and tells me that even though there is no written mention of the $100 fee in the terms, they could bill me because they told me about it. What a bunch of b.s. I will never rent from any Rent A Wreck location again. The parent company did not do a great job in ensuring that I got my money back. Hate to say it but if I hadn't shown some teeth, they would have kept my money. A poor granny or uncle Joe would definitely have been screwed.
