Riverside Hotel and Casino Laughlin, CA: The reservation was for an Executive King room, which features a king-sized bed; however, there was nothing about the room that justified the term 'executive.' The bed itself appeared to have been previously broken and repaired with what seemed to be plywood or similar material, resulting in a janky and highly uncomfortable sleeping surface. The charging outlets and ports were broken, and the windows were filthy.
Most staff behaved discourteously, and the facility's prices were excessively high for the low-class experience offered. Moreover, the gaming machines offered lower returns than during past visits. This was evident among various guests, suggesting the machines are being directly impacted by their cooperation.
Children in pajamas, teenagers wrapped in blankets, and overall lax dress codes (or lack thereof) were seen throughout the lobby and casino areas. The general mentality of the staff and the guests was low-class, and at times even third-world. The past pleasant environment and level of class and dress codes expected at casinos of old have been completely removed from this casino and hotel.
Regarding the room, the breakdown of charges is as follows:
- Room: $260.87
- Taxes & Fees: $56.39
- Additional Taxes and Fees: $6.00
- Resort Fees: $48.00
- Service Fee: $17.99
Pay Now
$335.25
Pay at Property
$54.00
However, upon check-in, we were forced to pay an additional $100 on top of the $54 owed. They offered no Veterans or Military discounts and were offended when we asked.
Furthermore, I found that the hotel and casino premises emitted an unpleasant odor reminiscent of sewage. The environment appeared neglected, with the flooring showing signs of extended neglect.
Additionally, the food at the restaurants and buffet was subpar as well, and way overpriced for what was offered. The waitress in the buffet was very friendly and helpful, but the hostess was rude to other customers waiting in line.
We were so disappointed that we decided to leave the second day, early evening, without staying in a small dingy room with a very uncomfortable bed.
The poor amenities, low-class environment and guests, overpriced restaurants, and rude staff were not worth another evening. We did not even stop at the desk; we just left in disappointment and disgust.
We called the family and friends who were due to meet us to cancel plans for this casino and hotel; it was that bad.
