(New Zealand) I was sent an ultimatum to pay $2k in "outstanding payments" (I was all paid up) within 10 days or my policies would be canceled. I'm a customer of over 20 years with AMP (who they bought some time recently) and have never missed a payment and as it turns out - had missed none here either. Through my broker I found out Resolution has a new payment system and it had a huge array of problems and I'd been caught up in this. Resolution wouldn't respond to me, my broker, or the Ombudsman with whom I've registered a complaint. Nothing. I'm now past the cancellation date they threatened me with, all my payments are current and they're still debiting my account. My broker's done what they can to prevent cancellation but get no response in confirmation from Resolution. If I didn't have my broker in my corner I would have paid the extra $2k to preserve the policies and then attempted to get a refund and a response. I must assume that there's a bunch of their customers out there who would have been backed into this corner and paid the extra and unnecessary fees. I can't belive based on a month of silence Resolutoin woudl (a) respond and (b) refund the excess $2k of fees. To date Resolution haven't responded to me, to my broker, or the Ombudsman with whom I've registered a complaint. Nothing.
