But a lot of what he writes about applies way beyond the kitchen.The learning section was probably my favourite part. The stuff on spaced repetition and active reading isn't new, but the way he frames it around a chef's life makes it click differently. And the financial literacy chapters are honestly overdue — I don't think any industry does a good job of teaching this, not just hospitality.Yusuf has had a serious career — decades across different countries and regions — and the book feels like it. It's not theory. Recommended, chef or not.
