Extremely frustrating experience

I paid a deposit in August 2023. The job has been canceled or rescheduled five times. Now, all communication is being ignored; my calls and emails go unanswered. I've tried to speak with someone about a refund, but the only person who can approve this is conveniently on leave. I contacted consumer affairs today.
